The NUST School of Health Sciences is leading the initiative to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and the power of early detection. In this effort, the Department of Community Medicine, NSHS has launched a month long campaign.

The campaign kicked off with the Pink Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Pinktober with zeal, conveying the message that together we stand strong in spreading awareness and hope. Students also proudly wore and distributed Pink Ribbons at the various schools of NUST and NUST Main Office, symbolizing unity in the fight against breast cancer.

The following day, Department of Community Medicine, NSHS, conducted an engaging awareness session at NCLS&C, on the risk factors, screening/early identification and prevention of breast cancer. Demonstrations on breast self-examination were carried out by expert clinicians of NSHS. The event highlighted the importance of early awareness and ended with an interactive Q&A session. The session was well received and appreciated by the participants.

Additionally, the NSHS team of clinicians and community medicine experts will be conducting these sessions across the twin cities, including Basic Health Units in Golra, G-13, Fatima Jinnah Women University. These efforts reflect NSHS enduring commitment to community outreach, public health promotion, and its broader mandate of social responsibility.
