Dr. Ayesha Haque is a medical doctor and holds a Fellowship in Anatomy (FCPS) and Masters in Medical Education (MCPS-HPE). She is currently a PhD scholar at Stellenbosch University. Dr. Ayesha has an illustrious career marked by multiple accolades, including the prestigious Gen W.A. Burki Gold Medal from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. She has also secured a notable research grant from the Czech Republic for her work on folic acid’s impact on neural crest anomalies, where she served as the Principal Investigator. She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles, contributing significantly to medical and educational research. Her publications include studies on COVID-19 preventive behaviors, the impact of online anatomy education, and IoT applications in healthcare. Her research has been featured in high-impact journals, and she has collaborated with researchers both nationally and internationally. Currently a Professor and Head of the Anatomy Department at NUST-School of Health Sciences, Islamabad, Dr. Haque brings years of national and international teaching expertise. She has introduced innovative methodologies, such as the incorporation of gamification-based design, to enhance student engagement. Her experience spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering diverse topics in anatomy and medical education. Beyond academia, Dr. Ayesha’s applied research projects have implications for real-world solutions, particularly in anatomy and medical education. Her work on the impact of folic acid on embryonic development is a pioneering contribution with potential therapeutic insights. Dr. Ayesha is an active member of the medical education and anatomy community, holding leadership roles at NUST, such as Year Coordinator, member of the Curriculum and Assessment Committees, and Chairperson of the Creative Club. She is committed to advancing medical education, fostering research innovation, and impacting both academia and practical applications in healthcare.
