As part of the 8th International Conference on Health Professions Education, themed Changing Horizons in Health Professions Education: What Next?, a series of pre-conference workshops were organized to advance the discourse in medical education. As collaborative partners of ICHPE, NSHS provided a venue for one such workshop, titled “Adaptive Learning and Precision Education: Transforming Medical Training with AI”. This insightful session was led by esteemed facilitators Prof. Abida Shaheen, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Shifa College of Medicine, and Prof. Fahad Azam, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Shifa College of Dentistry.
The workshop began with a warm welcome by NSHS Principal, Dr. Rizwan Ashraf, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the facilitators for their expertise and contributions. Dr. Ashraf highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in reshaping medical education, stressing the importance of empowering faculty with knowledge of cutting-edge trends in medical training.
Prof. Shaheen and Prof. Azam shared profound insights into the impact of AI on medical education, referencing the thought-provoking words of Prof. Fei-Fei Li: “AI Won’t Replace Humans, But Humans with AI Will Replace Humans without AI.” They encouraged participants to engage with emerging digital tools that are poised to redefine the educational landscape.
The session included practical, hands-on demonstrations of AI-driven tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Canva Magic, Chat Lab, Eduaide-AI, Notebook LM, and Educaplay.
