APICTA Awards 2024
-NUST School of Health Sciences, in collaboration with NUST College of EME, shone at the APICTA Awards, held in in Brunei Darussalam from Dec 4-7. Competing against 17 member economies, Team HemAidX secured runner up award for their AI- powered hematology diagnostic tool. HemAidX leverages generative AI to offer a faster, more cost effective and efficient alternative to conventional chemical staining, aiming to revolutionize hematology diagnostics in Pakistan. The project also won the merit award at the P@SHA ICT awards earlier this year.
The team includes Associate Professor Dr. Zahra Rashid, NUST School of Health Sciences, Prof Dr. Usman Akram College and Assistant Professor Dr. Asad Mansoor Khan, from College of EME. This is a collaborative effort between NUST School of Health Sciences, CoEME BIOMISA, NORI and PIMS.
