IPC Workshop Held in NSHS

One day workshop/ training session on infection control and waste management was held in NSHS by Department of Pathology and Infection Control Committee on 28 Aug 2023. The workshop was chaired by HoD Pathology. Prof Dr Azhar Qayyum and organized by Dr Sheroze Ilyas.
The workshop was arranged in collaboration with Indus Hospital and Health
Network. The objective was to disseminate the basic information of infection control and prevention according to WHO, CDC and National guidelines and to apprise the healthcare professionals of latest waste management protocol.
An interactive methodology of face to face teaching, followed by hands on training on donning and doffing was adopted in the seminar. Learning and sharing of information was also done with the support of videos for the use of spill kits and hand hygiene.
Total of 25 trainees consisting of faculty members/ laboratory staff of NSHS were given certificate of participation upon completion of the workshop. This capacity building initiative became possible due to support of Principal NSHS and Dr Muazz Sajjad, Project Manager Indus Hospital and Health Network.
