NIHC ’26 Research Presentation Sessions: “Emerging Voices in Health Research”

The sessions brought together presenters from NSHS, SINES, BUMC, FMDC, FUMC, RIPHAH, WMC and many more, with research spanning diverse areas including medical education, artificial intelligence, obesity, antimicrobial resistance, cardiovascular health, diabetes, sleep disorders, and other emerging health challenges.
Prof. Munazza Asad (Professor & HOD of Physiology) and Prof. Amna Faruqi (Professor of Physiology) served as Session Coordinators, overseeing the planning, scheduling, and overall coordination of the session.
Dr. Hira Moin and Dr. Sidra Shaukat (Assistant Professors of Physiology) served as the Session Moderators, guiding the presentations, coordinating the Q&A sessions, and maintaining an engaging academic flow throughout.
Dr. Hadia Naqeeb and Dr. Farwa Islam (Demonstrators of Physiology) served as the Session Facilitators, supporting the smooth execution of the proceedings and coordinating the certificate distribution.
The sessions were evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising Prof. Shazia Imran (Professor of Anatomy), Prof. Roomisa Anis (Professor of Biochemistry). Prof. Iftikhar Aslam (Professor & HOD of ENT), Prof. Nafisa Tahir (Professor & HOD of Medicine), Prof. Saad Azim (Professor of Medicine), and Prof. Syed Shaukat Hussain (Professor of ENT). The judges assessed the presentations for research quality, relevance, methodology, clarity, interpretation of findings, and responses during the Q&A. Their expert feedback provided valuable academic guidance to the presenters.

Second session
• First Position: Sadaf Sarfraz – Forman Christian College, Lahore
• First Runner-Up: Khawaja Murad – SINES, NUST
• Second Runner-Up: Zainab Shafiq – SINES, NUST

The sessions provided an e opportunity for emerging researchers to showcase their work, receive expert feedback, and strengthen their communication skills. The diversity of research topics and participating institutions reflected the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary health research.
