World Breast Feeding Week

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, NSHS led by Prof. Dr. Naheed Bano hosted a one-day seminar on Breastfeeding Awareness and Best Practices. The event brought together medical students and faculty members The seminar began with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Gazala Mehmud,a renowned senior obstetrician and gynecologist. Her talk highlighted the critical role of breastfeeding in maternal and child health, emphasized the WHO recommendations on exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. This was followed by a talk by Prof. Dr. Naheed about the benefits of breast feeding and precautions that should be taken by breast feeding mothers.

Lastly an interactive workshop was held at SADA by NSHS OB/GYN faculty with hands-on insights. Prof Adiba Khalil elaborated on techniques of breast feeding and Prof. Noreen Majid discussed common challenges faced by breast feeding mothers.
