We at NSHS emphasize on the professional, personal, and intellectual development of our students to ensure that graduates become contributory members and leaders in healthcare industry. With Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital as teaching hospital, not only will our students develop reqiusite and relevant clinical competencies,  but also will benefit from mentorship from renowned clinicians. LOCATION

NUST School of Health Sciences (NSHS) is located at the NUST main campus, Islamabad. The university is conveniently situated at Sector H-12. It enjoys easy access from the Srinagar Highway, a mere 35-minute drive from Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad and just 5 minutes away from the Motorway (M1). The city is in close proximity to various tourist attractions, including historical sites like Taxila and Kittas Raj as well as picturesque hill stations like Murree and Patriata. Renowned for its universities, colleges and research facilities, Islamabad provides a vibrant academic and cultural environment.

GEOGRAPHY

Nested against the lush green Margalla Hills with the majestic Himalayas in the background, Islamabad is located on the northern rim of the Potohar plateau. The region features undulating terrain adorned with meandering mountain streams and rivulets.

CLIMATE

Islamabad experiences a subtropical climate, characterized by with four seasons- a pleasant Spring (March–April), a hot Summer (May–August), a warm dry Autumn (September—October), and a cold Winter (November—February). The wettest month is July, with heavy rainfall. The coldest month is January. Temperatures range from 4oC degrees in January to 46oC in June.

DEMOGRAPHY

With the population exceeding 4.5 million, the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi represent a diverse blend of ethnic communities, including foreign mission members. While Urdu serves as the common language, English is widely understood and spoken and also serves as the medium of instruction at the university.
