Department of Dermatology

The department of dermatology offers comprehensive education in dermatology, enabling students to diagnose, manage and treat a variety of skin conditions. Through clinical rotations and case discussions, students will gain hands on experience in managing skin diseases, ensuring optimal skin health of their future patients.

The department is led by experienced dermatologists who excel in teaching and performing various dermatological conditions. Our students gain hands on experience in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of dermatological conditions through clinical rotations while observing and assisting various procedures. They also get practical training in developing treatment plans, prescribing medications and learn to function effectively in the procedure room, understanding surgical protocols and team work. Additionally, preparedness for managing dermatological emergencies like acute drug reactions, Steven Johnson’s syndrome and erythroderma equips students for urgent situations.

Collaboration with general medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics and other specialities fosters a holistic approach to patient care and management. Discussions on medical ethics, patient confidentiality and informed consent will prepare students for ethical dilemmas, while seminars, case discussions and participation in dermatological conferences keep students and faculty updated with emerging management trends. We also stress on effective communication skills for explaining diagnosis and treatment plans to patient is emphasized. We aim to inculcate competence in diagnosing and treating skin conditions is vital for holistic patient care, making the department’s teachings pivotal for future healthcare professionals.
