Departments Department of Pharmacology

Department of Pharmacology

In the Department of Pharmacology, students will delve into the fascinating world of drugs and their effects on the human body. Through interactive lectures, practical sessions and case studies, students will learn about various drug classes, their mechanism of action, therapeutic applications, and potential side effects. This knowledge will enable future physicians to make informed decisions regarding patient care and medication management

The department boasts experienced faculty members who excel in teaching and researching the effects of drugs on the human body. Students explore the genetic basis of drug responses and individualized treatment approaches. This prepares students for prescribing and managing medications in clinical settings. Discussions on adverse drug reactions, personalized medicine, and ethical considerations ensure patient safety. Additionally, students analyze clinical cases, pharmacological knowledge and critically evaluate drug interactions which equips them for evidence-based decision-making.

We promote research and encourage collaboration with other medical disciplines that enhances students’ understanding of the integration of pharmacology in patient care. Studies on drug regulations, clinical trials, and post-marketing surveillance contribute to students’ awareness of safety concerns

A solid foundation in pharmacology is essential for effective patient care and clinical decision-making, making the department’s teachings crucial for future healthcare professionals. Furthermore, understanding the global variations in drug use and regulations prepares students for a diverse healthcare environment.
